The Silent Lost of a Beautiful Ecosystem

The melting of North Pole is not longer just fiction but a reality, according to many studies by around 2015 the Artic ice sheet will be fragile enough for ice breakers to carve a straight path between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

This new has had several reactions in people. On the one hand are shipping companies who plan to take advantage of this phenomenon that will cut drastically costs and working time and on the other hand there are the opinions of environmentalists who fear that the animal life of the poles are extinguished by floods or oil Spills.

The Poles are dying. It may sound hard, but it is the action of the human being that is destroying this beautiful and unique glacier ecosystem. This icy land is home to an unsurpassed and irreplaceable fauna and flora and for this reason and many others it is imperative not to ignore this phenomenon and do something about it.

There are several causes that favor the melting of the poles among them are the burning of fossil fuels, the increase of global warming and the increase of the greenhouse gases.

Although a lot of people do not believe it, the disappearance of this ecosystem can affect us all, because if the ice present in it melt the water level would increase drastically, causing possible natural disasters, there would also be scarcity of freshwater that It would have a negative impact on agriculture, industry, animal and plant species.

But wait, not all is lost, we can still keep part of this great landscape, there are measures that we can take to save it before it is late, one of them is to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, because these increases the temperature of the planet, Another is to better manage fresh water to avoid scarcity but the most important is to promote, undertake and educate people to be aware of the damage we are doing to planet Earth before it is too late.

The planet Earth is our home, it has given us many things and it is time to return the favor. It is important to remember that the nation that destroys its soil destroys itself.
